Connection Instructions for your KDC Mac Barcode Scanner:
1) Place the BarcodeGuy.com resource CD into your Mac. It will appear on the desktop screen. Double-click it. |

| 2) The contents of the CD will be shown. Open the Mac Folder. The contents of the Mac folder will be displayed. Leave this up on the screen for now. |

| 3) On the top right, by the clock, you will see a Bluetooth Icon. Click on it, and make sure Bluetooth is turned on. |
 |
| 3) When Bluetooth is turned on, when you click the Bluetooth icon, new options will appear in the menu. Make sure "Discoverable" is selected. Then select "Set Up Bluetooth Device". The Bluetooth Setup Assistant will appear. |

| 4) On the KDC Barcode Scanner, press both side button at the same time. The KDC on-board configuration menu will appear, with KDCMode highlighted. Use the side buttons to navigate the menu options. Highlight "BT Config" and press the front scan button to select it. |

5) "ConnectDevice will be highlighted, Press the front scan button to select it.
6) Use the side buttons to highlight "SPP" and put the selection asterisk next to it by pressing the front scan button. Then use the side buttons to highlight "Save & Exit" and select it with the front scan button. |

7) You will be dropped out of the "Connect Device" menu options. Use the side buttons to navigate to the bottom of the "BT Config" menu options to highlight "Top Menu". Press the front scan button to select it.
8) Press the bottom side button once to highlight "BT Service" and press the front scan button to select it. |

9) Use the side buttons to highlight "Pairing" and press the front scan button to select it.
10) The scanner will now begin the pairing process with the Mac. Look back to the Mac to continue... |

11) When we left the Mac, the Bluetooth Setup Assistant was trying to pair with available devices. When the KDC enters the pairing mode, the Setup Assistant on the Mac discovers the KDC Barcode Scanner and lists it by Model followed by the last 6 digits of its serial number.
12) Make sure the KDC Barcode Scanner is selected, and press the "Continue" Button. |

13) The Mac Bluetooth Setup Assistant will display the following messages:
- "Attempting to Pair with KDCXXX(SNSNSN)"
- "Connecting to KDCXXX(SNSNSN)"
- "Gathering Additional information about your device"
Note that "XXX" refers to the model of KDC barcode scanner you are using, "SNSNSN" refers to the last 6 digits of the serial number of the KDC. Those numbers can be found on the back of your KDC. |

14) When the pairing process is complete, The Bluetooth Setup Assistant will display "Pairing was completed successfully. NOTE: The KDC bluetooth connection is recognized as a serial connection.... so we need to use KTSync to manage the connection. |
| 15) When you opened the Mac folder on the BarcodeGuy.com CD, the contents of the folder included the KTSync application. Launch the KTSync application by double-clicking it. |

| 16) When KTSync opens, press the "Connect" button. A fly out list of paired KDC barcode scanners will be presented. Click on the Serial Number of the KDC Barcode Scanner you are connecting to. |

17) KTSync will present the "Connected to KDCXXX(SNSNSN) message in the Viewer section of the screen.
18) Scan some barcodes to verify that the scanned data is being transferred to the KTSync Viewer on the Mac. |

Congratulations - You're now ready to scan barcodes! Open any application and scan a barcode. The scanned data shows up where ever the cursor is flashing!!
